Mykonos Town

Mykonos Town or Chora: The Town of Mykonos, called Chora by the locals, is a typical Cycladic village built amphitheatrically. It has whitewashed cubic houses with wooden coloured doors, windows and balconies, narrow streets forming a labyrinth, beautiful churches, lovely chapels and purple bougainvilleas contrasting with the bright white of the buildings’ walls.

Kato Mili Windmills

One of the top places to visit in Mykonos is Kato Mili or the “lower windmills” in Greek.  One must visit the windmills to learn how the Venetians harnessed the power of the wind, and enjoy the panoramic views of the town and ocean.

Little Venice

Little Venice is a neighborhood with colorful houses built on the edge of the sea. It took its name due to its resemblance with Venice. Nowadays the houses have been turned into elegant bars and restaurants and are among the best places in town to watch the sunset while sipping a cocktail.

Panagia Paraportiani

The Church of Panagia Paraportiani in the town of Kastro is one of the most beautiful churches on the island, its white-washed walls reflecting the sunlight and its vantage point offering stunning views over the Aegean Sea. The complex comprises five different church buildings which have been built and added to over the years, and would once have stood next to the entrance to the island’s main castle, hence the name ‘Paraportiani’ meaning ‘standing next to the entrance door’.

Delos & Delos Archeological Museum

The Archaeological Museum of Delos was built way back in the year 1904. The construction of this famous museum was carried out under the aegis of the Archaeological Society of Athens. Initially, the museum was spread over just five rooms. It was much later in the year 1931 and again in 1972 that further rooms were added. At present the historical artifacts are on display in nine rooms. There are six exclusive rooms where rare historical statues unearthed from the archaeological site at Delos are on display.

Old Harbor

After catching the SeaBus from the new port at Tourlos you’ll disembark at the marble quays of the Old Harbour. On the east side are the arcades of the Town Hall dating to the 1700s, in front of which is the tiny church of Agios Nikolaos, crowned with a blue dome.

Rarity Gallery

Recently Mykonos has gained a reputation as an art destination, and has a lot to do with the Rarity Gallery.Founded in 1995, this three-room space was the first to present paintings, sculpture, photography and installations by artists of international standing.
